Matthew 6: 21 I was thinking about this verse a lot today and decided that it would be appropriate for me to share with you something that Matt & I have recently invested a lot of money in... I mean, if that doesn't just move you to tears I don't know what will. After being broken for 2 weeks and repaired 3 times, twice within a 24 hour period, our hearts have been chopped up into little tiny pieces and scattered on the ground around our air conditioning unit. Now I know that in some states people don't even have central air, but here in Florida we would all be dead without it. One afternoon we went by the house to pick up a few things and the upstairs was 94 degrees. I think it was only 92 outside. Home ownership...isn't it grand. This morning I hit the Laundry Jackpot!!! I found two clean, crisp, freshly washed & dried George Washington's all for myself. You're jealous I know. And even though I am 100% sure they came out of my own khaki shorts (the only other things in this particular load were white t-shirts, undies, & a Born to be a UK Wildcat Onsie ) I was still pretty excited. Ok , I admit, it doesn't take much. But Man! Another day like this & I'll be able to buy an Iced Chai Latte from Starbucks without Matt deducting it from our eating out budget. Life is Good!

Gracyn DenBesten is a little girl who God is using in a big way. On Christmas Eve 2008 she was admitted to the hospital and later diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy . After spending 4 months hooked up to an artificial heart, she received a heart transplant on April 15 th . We heard that when the doctor told her she was getting a new heart she asked "will my new heart love Jesus as much as my old heart does?" This past Sunday we had the overwhelming privilege of hearing her sing during the worship time. I can assure you, there was not a dry eye in the house. As I sat there holding sweet little Adelyn a little tighter than normal I couldn't help but think that this is just a small glimpse of what heaven will be like. We definitely have our fair share of TV shows we like to watch...American Idol, The Bachelor, The Unit, Private Practice, the occasional Regis & Kelly. But when it comes to Adelyn I've been very careful not to let her watch TV . One because when it is on she zones in and can't do anything else. And two because there really isn't anything on TV for an 8 month old . Anyways, today as I was browsing my "What to Expect the First Year" book I came across some disturbing information... "According to Nielsen Media Research, children two to twelve years of age watch an average of twenty-five hours of television a week. If your daughter's viewing falls into that average range, she will have spent 15,000 hours glued to the set by the time she graduates from high school-about 4,000 more hours than she will have spent in school. If her viewing isn't carefully screened, she will, research suggests, have witnessed 18,000 murderers , countless robberies, rape...

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise to know that Matt & I don't always agree on everything. For example, I think Matt should appreciate what a bargain shopper I am. Matt doesn't think I should shop. Clearly, someone's mistaken. But when it comes to parenting we really have been in agreement on every issue (yes, I know it's only been 6 months) but one...Diapers. Now before you think to yourself "I wonder if they're using cloth diapers?" let me just tell you that we completely agree that money should never be saved on 3 items. Toilet Paper. Paper Towels. And you guessed it, Diapers. So what's problem? It's the size of the diaper. If it was up to Matt, Adelyn would still be wearing the newborn size. (I think he's in denial about the fact that she's actually grown since being born). I however, the head diaper changer, fully understand the importance of a well fit diaper. Easter Sunday, March Madness, Warmer Weather, Birthday Celebrations (I know at least 150 people with birthdays between Feb. 28th & April 30th), Blooming Flowers. These are all wonderful reasons why we look forward to Spring each year. At Samford they have the most beautiful tree near Reed Chapel that gets such pretty flowers each Spring. I loved it!
