Disaster Averted!

If you've read our blog before you've probably noticed that Bunny pops up every once in awhile. He is Adelyn's "lovey" if you will and goes everywhere she goes. Last night we were at church and when I picked her up from the nursery I did the usual diaper bag check to make sure that Bunny & the paci were present. I could tell Bunny wasn't in there but I could also tell that no one had opened the bag since I dropped her off so I thought he must be in the car. Much to our chagrin, Bunny was MIA in the car as well. After going back inside to check once more with the ladies in the nursery we headed home Bunny less, desperately hoping he was there. I tried to ask Adelyn what she knew about Bunny's whereabouts. This is what she had to say...

M: "Adelyn, where do you think Bunny could be?"

A: "Dirt, dirty"

M: "Bunny's in the dirt?"

A: "Yeah. Bushes."

M: "Oh no! How did Bunny get in the bushes?"

A: "Frew'im"

M: "Adelyn, why did you throw Bunny in the bushes?"

A: "Get'im"

Thankfully we found Bunny at home reading the book about the "Do" (Rooster) as soon as we walked in the door! As for the bunny that Adelyn "frew" in the bushes, I'm not sure who he belongs to. I'm just glad I'm not the one traipsing through the bushes trying to find him!

Are you ready for this?

Monday was a very exciting day at our house. I celebrated turnig 29 (Yikes! I'm getting old) and we had a fetal echocardiogram to check on Baby Lilly #2. We didn't get any great shots because once again this little baby had their hand right next to their face. A very comfy position apparently. I'm happy to report that my birthday this year was a million times better than last year and Baby Lilly's heart looks great! But that's not what you want to know now is it. Nope, you want to know what our name list looks like...So far Matt has suggested Jelaine and Lapchild (for traveling purposes) and Adelyn has suggested Adelyn, Susie, Martha (if it's a boy), and Baby Scruffa Muffin. Two!

On August 2nd the Buddy Boy turned 2! He was and still is so incredibly proud of himself over this achievement. Caiden is the most perfect combination of all boy and sweet and snuggly toddler that there ever could be! He loves trucks and balls, throws caution to the wind, and has a stubborn streak that isn't going anywhere. He adores his daddy more than I can explain, loves to get kisses from mommy and wants to do everything his big sister does. We never knew how much we needed this little boy until he arrived and we are so humbled and blessed because we were chosen to be his mommy and daddy. How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you? 1 Thessalonians 3:9

"I have ponytail!"

Yesterday Adelyn wanted me to fix her hair in a ponytail. I can assure you it's much harder than it sounds. Poor kid got my hair. But she doesn't know it and after seeing herself in the mirror she was so proud. The first thing she wanted to do was show daddy. So, we made him a video... At dinner I was lamenting about how grown up she looks and that it makes me kind of sad. Matt's sympathetic response? "Her hair really isn't long enough for a ponytail if you ask me. She looks like a boy from the front and when she turns to the side she looks like a pirate." Ahh, just what every girl wants to hear, "you look like a pirate."
