Study Buddies

It's been almost 7 years ago that we first took a Crown Ministries class. If you're not familiar with this study it teaches what God's word says about money, finances, debt, giving, etc. While we didn't realize it at the time, it was one of the best things we could have done for our marriage as broke newlyweds. Knowing what God says about money and making decisions based on that has saved us a lot of heartache and we have been truly blessed. We were recently asked to help facilitate a class through our church. Tonight was the first night so Adelyn spent some time this afternoon helping Matt study. She's such a good helper!

Strolling...the next Olympic Sport

Adelyn is very excited about the 2010 Winter Olympics. So excited in fact that she decided to invent a new sport so that babies across the world can participate. Here she is with one last wave before she enters the rink. And she's off! What speed! Look at that technique! She's gonna be hard to beat in the finals. Oooo...wrong turn. That may have just cost her a medal. Hmm. Hopefully she'll be able to recover in the second round.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We hope you had a very sweet Valentine's yesterday! This year was our most romantic ever...a heart shaped pizza. Yum! I know what you're thinking...don't be jealous. We set the bar high.

The Final Rose...

As I'm sure you all know by now, Corrie did not receive a rose from Jake this past Monday. :( While I will definitely miss watching her on TV I think I can speak on behalf of everyone in my family (except for Matt) that we were very glad she did not get a hometown date. Matt was really hoping that Adelyn would make an appearance on The Bachelor thus launching her own television career as the next Gerber Baby... Anyway, we are all very proud of Corrie and think she did an excellent job. If you're interested, here are some links to other interviews Corrie has done and her own blog/website.    http://ohsodandy.com/blog/   http://cfc.abc3340.com/videoondemand.cfm?id=57984   http://cfc.abc3340.com/videoondemand.cfm?id=58005&category=toa http://www.etonline.com/news/2010/02/83723/ This one is a phone interview. It is a little long and fuzzy for the first 5 minutes but she answers a lot of questions... http://www.tvgrapevine.com/index.php?...

"Gawkee"

One of the best things about Adelyn's current stage is how she daily surprises us with how smart she is and the things she knows that we would never guess. We don't make morning pots of coffee at our house, but a couple of weeks ago when Mimi & Grandpa came to visit Mimi made her infamous pot of coffee every morning. Apparently, Adelyn really noticed because now she points to the coffee maker and says "gawkee" every morning. This afternoon we ran into Target to pick up a few things. Once we got settled into our cart Adelyn pointed to the Starbucks and made the sign for drink. She then proceeded to point agian and say "gawkee!" So of course we strolled on over to get some. Doesn't she look deep in thought. Like she's really enjoying that empty cup of "gawkee."

Girly Girl

Adelyn was 15 months on the 5th so I thought it might be time for a little progress report. I'll try to keep it brief... First of all, I think I forgot to metion that she started walking at 13 months. This means that I started running 2 months ago and am in great shape. Ha! Yeah right. More like always out of breath! Between signing and using real words, this kid is talking up a storm. Strangely enough, I still can't seem to understand her 80% of the time. The funniest thing lately is that she wants to read a bookie while she rockies and wears sockies. She also loves doggies and duckies and wants to walkies everywhere. In the past month I have notice the "girl" in her coming out more than ever...  She is definitely the hostess with the mostess! "Tea anyone?"   "Here, let me pour you some." She is a very sweet and loving "mommy". Always making sure her baby drinks her milk and eats her fruit. Adelyn reads to her baby ev...
