Eye to Eye

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise to know that Matt & I don't always agree on everything. For example, I think Matt should appreciate what a bargain shopper I am. Matt doesn't think I should shop. Clearly, someone's mistaken. But when it comes to parenting we really have been in agreement on every issue (yes, I know it's only been 6 months) but one...Diapers. Now before you think to yourself "I wonder if they're using cloth diapers?" let me just tell you that we completely agree that money should never be saved on 3 items. Toilet Paper. Paper Towels. And you guessed it, Diapers. So what's problem? It's the size of the diaper. If it was up to Matt, Adelyn would still be wearing the newborn size. (I think he's in denial about the fact that she's actually grown since being born). I however, the head diaper changer, fully understand the importance of a well fit diaper. In Matt's defense, he has never actually changed a blow-out diaper or had to leave church only moments after arriving because his Sunday dress was no longer shall we say, "presentable". So my question for you is, what don't you & your spouse always see eye to eye on?

The Sous Chef

Adelyn was very busy last night helping me get ready for dinner. First she turned on some nice music for us to listen to while dining.
Then she kept an eye on Daddy for me so that I could finish cooking.

What a good helper!

Little Stinker!

This morning Adelyn's mobile looked like this... This afternoon Adelyn's mobile looked like this...
Because of this...

Little Stinker! Her look of remorse is going to need some work. In the meantime, we'll be lowering the crib. (And hoping that duct tape really can fix anything!)

6 months

Adelyn turned 6 months old yesterday & is more fun than ever! A few weeks ago she developed a very serious condition... chronic fake cough. It makes us laugh every time she does it. For example: Big smile (I'm so glad to see you mommy!) then she lets out a few fake coughs. Or she might drop a toy and it falls where she can't reach it. She then begins the fake cough until she gets it back. What a silly girl! We are making progress in the solid foods department. Rice cereal is not a big hit but squash sure is! Today we're going to try green beans. She would also really like to crawl but is not quite there. It won't be long though so baby proofing is on my list of stuff to do this week. There is a budding relationship going on right now between Adelyn & Dakota. She watches him very intently and he even licked her forehead once (a sign of his devotion). I have a terrible feeling that once she does start crawling they're going to have a falling out. Dakota really prefers to do the chasing. : )

I'm so Excited!!!

About the possibility of crawling... That UK got a new coach. Yay for Coach Calipari!
My promotion to Sous Chef at Mommy's! (Now that Adelyn has dropped her last nap of the day she has a lot more free time on her hands & mommy has a lot less!)

Spring Time

Easter Sunday, March Madness, Warmer Weather, Birthday Celebrations (I know at least 150 people with birthdays between Feb. 28th & April 30th), Blooming Flowers. These are all wonderful reasons why we look forward to Spring each year. At Samford they have the most beautiful tree near Reed Chapel that gets such pretty flowers each Spring. I loved it! But, if we are really being honest with ourselves, everyone knows the real reason you love Spring...
