Trust and Obey

The next Kari Jobe? I think so!

And in case you need a little translation, Adelyn is singing...

Trust and obey, for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.

and she says...

"I learn to obey my mommy and daddy that's why I don't get a spanking."

Are you ready for this?

Monday was a very exciting day at our house. I celebrated turnig 29 (Yikes! I'm getting old) and

we had a fetal echocardiogram to check on Baby Lilly #2. We didn't get any great shots because once again this little baby had their hand right next to their face. A very comfy position apparently.
I'm happy to report that my birthday this year was a million times better than last year and Baby Lilly's heart looks great!

But that's not what you want to know now is it. Nope, you want to know what our name list looks like...So far Matt has suggested Jelaine and Lapchild (for traveling purposes) and Adelyn has suggested Adelyn, Susie, Martha (if it's a boy), and Baby Scruffa Muffin.

Still not what you're looking for? Hmm, how about that Baby Lilly #2 is a...

BOY!!!

And while we are so not ready for a boy and a little shocked we're really exicted too. Thanks to everyone who voted, commented or left me messages on facebook about the Chinese Calendar. Both it and the baby gender predictor were completely wrong for us this time around which is not surprising since it really is a 50/50 chance. And now that we know we're having a "brudder" Adelyn is adament that we should name him Susie. Poor kid. He's not even here yet and she's giving him a hard time.

The Final Four

Well, I can't say that I'm super excited to blog about this trip, but we blog about the good, the bad & the ugly around here, so here ya go...

Last year Matt entered us it the NCAA's lottery for Final Four tickets. We were drawn and 4 tickets were delivered to our house a few weeks ago. Of course when they arrived we didn't think we'd actually be using them, but miracle of all miracles, UK beat Ohio St. and UNC and we were Houston bound!!
Don't we look so happy.

Full of confidence that our team would win.
Eager for the game to begin.
Oh how wrong we were. And while no actual tears were shed, we certainly did not stop to take a picture of our pouting faces. We are still proud of the Cats though and definitely planning to cheer them on again. Maybe just not in attendance until the final game.

We did learn a lot about Houston while we were there. For example, eat at the Humble City Cafe. It is awesome. And if you're lucky, the owner will be there, sing hymns, and tell you all about the history of Humble, TX.

The De Lorean factory on the other hand is a total let down. It probably didn't help that we were there on a Sunday.

On a side note, this does not count as our "Baby Moon", however, Matt will no longer fly with me while pregnant which means we'll be Baby Mooning somewhere within driving distance of Orlando. Like Disney World.

The Chinese Calendar

In less than a week we will find out if Baby Lilly #2 is a boy or a girl. We are excited, anxious, nervous, and can hardly wait! As I'm sure you know, there are countless wives tales people use to predict a baby's gender. My doctor predicted a boy based on the baby's heart rate and Matt's prediciting a girl because "the Lord knows what he needs." When I was pregnant with Adelyn women would tell me I was having a boy because of the way I was "carrying" (even though we already knew she was a girl) and recently I saw a pee on the stick gender predictor kit at Target. One of the more "reliable" gender predictors someone told me about is the Chinese Calendar. It's based on the mother's lunar age and there are two different calendars to use. So, click on these links, see what it says about your child/children, and come back to vote in my polls (in the left column) about how accurate it was for you! Make sure you vote for each child if you have more than one.

Baby Gender Predictor - make sure you enter the correct time zones for this one.

Chinese Lunar Calendar

And in case you're wondering, it correctly predicted that Adelyn would be a girl but I'm not telling what it says about this baby until next week. :)

A visit to Aunt Corrie's

Last week Adelyn & I went down to visit "the newlyweds".

We watched Uncle Chris play baseball,

had a little accident at Pottery Barn Kids,

and erased everything Aunt Corrie had written on her dry erase board.

It was lots of fun! I think they're going to let us come back...
