Free Cat to Good Home:

He will eat your house plants and puke on your carpet, rugs, and furniture, harbor feelings of hostility toward your young children and act on them, meow intentionally in the middle of the night to wake you up, and drink water from your kitchen sink.

Very Lovable!

March Madness

Well, it's hard to believe that March has pretty much come and gone without one post from me. I don't know how things are for you, but March Madness has more than one meaning at our house. Things have certainly been all about basketball around here. All three of us filled out our brackets, Adelyn sufferend from a shortened nap thanks to a close SEC game and even as I type this we have 5 minutes and 41 seconds to go... Matt's Our blood pressure is slightly high.

Outside of basketball we've had a visit from Mimi & Grandpa, multiple illnesses (which I will not be detailing), and extra events at work. Things have definitely been non-stop at our house. Make sure you scroll all the way down because I've added lots of new posts.

Everytime Grandpa comes to visit we take a picture in the swing. I thought it would be fun to take a look back at our picture from last March. I can't believe how much she's changed!

A Trip to the Orange Groves

A few weeks ago Brody invited Adelyn to go pick oranges and we had a blast!

Adelyn was beside herself with happiness when she saw all the ducks.

She squealed in delight and chased them all over the place determined to give them a hug and kiss. Luckily for the ducks, she did not succeed.

I was delighted that we actually got a family picture where everyone was looking at the camera!

In Other News

Adelyn has been a busy growing girl this month! We are constantly amazed at how much she knows and how well she can communicate with us. She will say things like "medicine, toof, coming" to let me know her tooth is bothering her or "diaper, stinky, check" to stall bed time just a little bit longer. She also has an amazing memory and will talk about people or events days later.  A few other developmental milestones include saying her own name, kicking and throwing a ball, and saying "hi" to her shadow whenever it appears!

On March 23rd Adelyn became a cousin and Matt & I an aunt and uncle as Chris and Ashley welcomed Caroline Cooper into the world. This is Adelyn's favorite picture of Caroline and she asks to see it on a regular basis. It is so cute to watch her study it. After a few minutes she'll say "baby, seepy, hat, blanket" and then try to share her broccoli with Caroline. Other times she wants to give her a hug, kiss, and call "Rhine" to talk on the phone.

Now we're just waiting on the arrival of Darla and Rob's baby. She's not due until the end of April but we're hoping for an early arrival!

Overheard in my house

Disclaimer: I completely stole this idea from my friend Lauren and while I don't see it becoming a regular (until Adelyn starts making complete sentences) I thought this little conversation was kind of funny...

Background: Matt & I were discussing the birth of Caroline, the upcoming birth of Darla's baby, and his lack of need to use family names.

M: "Does that bother you?"

A: "No, not really. Maybe if we had one I really wanted to use it would."

M: "Yeah, I mean how do you know which one to choose? I guess we could use Jelaine." (combination of Jennifer & Elaine - our mother's)

A: "Jelaine is niiice."

M: (Yelling and throwing his hands in the air)  "What up Jelaine!"
