Pregnancy Update

Today I'm 15 weeks and it's true what they say, the second time around goes by much faster! Matt and I are so excited to be expecting baby #2 but a little nervous too. For those of you who are counting, yes, I was pregnant in both of my sister's weddings. 7 months in Darla's and 11 weeks in Corrie's. Luckily at Corrie's wedding no one cornered me in the buffet line and shamlessly rubbed my belly while I was holding a plate of food.

You may remember that while I was pregnant with Adelyn I received weekly emails comparing the baby to produce. I signed up for those again and this week the baby is an apple. I've been surprised by how different my pregnancy symptoms have been this time around and my cheif complaint of late has been lower back pain. Adelyn has been very sypmathetic to my cause though and eats crackers in bed with me whenever I want. She also sweetly pats me randomly throughout the day and says "I sorry you don't feel good!"

She is really excited about being a big sister. When we first told her we would ask "Adelyn, do you want to be a big sister?" and she would respond "no, I be da wittle sister." But now she's decided that she would like to be the big sister. And if you ask her if she thinks the baby will be a boy or a girl she says "just a baby". Matt on the other hand is quite confident that it will be a girl and after listening to the heart beat my doctor predicted a boy. So we'll see...

Here is a picture of Baby Lilly #2 right around 13 weeks. The face isn't very clear because the baby had their hand right up next to it but I'm prediticing the same nose as Adelyn.

O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago.

Two!

On August 2nd the Buddy Boy turned 2! He was and still is so incredibly proud of himself over this achievement.   Caiden is the most perfect combination of all boy and sweet and snuggly toddler that there ever could be! He loves trucks and balls, throws caution to the wind, and has a stubborn streak that isn't going anywhere. He adores his daddy more than I can explain, loves to get kisses from mommy and wants to do everything his big sister does. We never knew how much we needed this little boy until he arrived and we are so humbled and blessed because we were chosen to be his mommy and daddy.   How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?   1 Thessalonians 3:9

10 years

Today Matt & I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary! Part of me can hardly believe that it's already been 10 years. I can still remember so many details of that time in our lives. The joy and excitement of the wedding and anticipation for the future. And another part of me knows that 10 years is not that long at all. We've only just begun!   We did not get any digital images from our wedding photographer (it was a different time back in 2003) but a friend took these and gave them to me.   One of my favorite parts of our ceremony was that we signed a covenant. Matt & I signed first and then both of our family's came up and signed. It was a really special part of our ceremony.         I am so thankful for these past 10 years with my best friend! When Matt & I met at a mutual friend's house 12 years ago I never could have imagined all that God had planned. But through it all - the victories and...

Thanksgiving 2012

I know, it's pathetic. I'm blogging about Thanksgiving 2012 at the end of February 2013. But there were too many fun memories to not give it a blog post.   We headed to Owensboro this year for Thanksgiving. It was Caiden's first airplane ride and visit to Kentucky. He did great on both the flights. Isn't it so sad that his mother made him ride in a hot pink stroller.    Adelyn and Caroline had a lot of fun playing together. They had the most fun teasing Uncle Chris by hiding in his bed and giggling until he came to find them.     Since these pictures were taken Caroline has become a big sister. Do you think she was worried that her baby brother would be as silly as Adelyn's?   Speaking of our baby brother, he was quite the early riser on this trip. On Thanksgiving morning he woke up at 4 am, took a scenic drive around Owensboro, wished everyone in the drive thru at Dunkin' Donuts a "Happy Thanksgiving" an...
