The Final Four

Well, I can't say that I'm super excited to blog about this trip, but we blog about the good, the bad & the ugly around here, so here ya go...

Last year Matt entered us it the NCAA's lottery for Final Four tickets. We were drawn and 4 tickets were delivered to our house a few weeks ago. Of course when they arrived we didn't think we'd actually be using them, but miracle of all miracles, UK beat Ohio St. and UNC and we were Houston bound!!
Don't we look so happy.

Full of confidence that our team would win.
Eager for the game to begin.
Oh how wrong we were. And while no actual tears were shed, we certainly did not stop to take a picture of our pouting faces. We are still proud of the Cats though and definitely planning to cheer them on again. Maybe just not in attendance until the final game.

We did learn a lot about Houston while we were there. For example, eat at the Humble City Cafe. It is awesome. And if you're lucky, the owner will be there, sing hymns, and tell you all about the history of Humble, TX.

The De Lorean factory on the other hand is a total let down. It probably didn't help that we were there on a Sunday.

On a side note, this does not count as our "Baby Moon", however, Matt will no longer fly with me while pregnant which means we'll be Baby Mooning somewhere within driving distance of Orlando. Like Disney World.

Abbie, I saw you wear that dress when I was in FL, and you are definitely showing more now! I could have completely missed the bump before, but I can clearly see it in the photos from Texas. I can't wait to hear whether you're having a girl or a boy. :)

Two!

On August 2nd the Buddy Boy turned 2! He was and still is so incredibly proud of himself over this achievement.   Caiden is the most perfect combination of all boy and sweet and snuggly toddler that there ever could be! He loves trucks and balls, throws caution to the wind, and has a stubborn streak that isn't going anywhere. He adores his daddy more than I can explain, loves to get kisses from mommy and wants to do everything his big sister does. We never knew how much we needed this little boy until he arrived and we are so humbled and blessed because we were chosen to be his mommy and daddy.   How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?   1 Thessalonians 3:9

10 years

Today Matt & I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary! Part of me can hardly believe that it's already been 10 years. I can still remember so many details of that time in our lives. The joy and excitement of the wedding and anticipation for the future. And another part of me knows that 10 years is not that long at all. We've only just begun!   We did not get any digital images from our wedding photographer (it was a different time back in 2003) but a friend took these and gave them to me.   One of my favorite parts of our ceremony was that we signed a covenant. Matt & I signed first and then both of our family's came up and signed. It was a really special part of our ceremony.         I am so thankful for these past 10 years with my best friend! When Matt & I met at a mutual friend's house 12 years ago I never could have imagined all that God had planned. But through it all - the victories and...

Thanksgiving 2012

I know, it's pathetic. I'm blogging about Thanksgiving 2012 at the end of February 2013. But there were too many fun memories to not give it a blog post.   We headed to Owensboro this year for Thanksgiving. It was Caiden's first airplane ride and visit to Kentucky. He did great on both the flights. Isn't it so sad that his mother made him ride in a hot pink stroller.    Adelyn and Caroline had a lot of fun playing together. They had the most fun teasing Uncle Chris by hiding in his bed and giggling until he came to find them.     Since these pictures were taken Caroline has become a big sister. Do you think she was worried that her baby brother would be as silly as Adelyn's?   Speaking of our baby brother, he was quite the early riser on this trip. On Thanksgiving morning he woke up at 4 am, took a scenic drive around Owensboro, wished everyone in the drive thru at Dunkin' Donuts a "Happy Thanksgiving" an...
