The Big Dance

Kentucky's not the only one busy "dancing" this week. Adelyn has had several exciting dance parties at her house lately. And what's on her play list you ask? High School Musical of course!
Last year Adelyn had some help filling out a tournament bracket based on whose mascot she liked better. She did surprisingly well and picked several upsets. Matt & I were pretty excited that this year she would actually have an opinion and it went really well...

Matt: Ok, Adelyn who do you want to win Ohio St. or UT-San Antonio?
Adelyn: KENTUCKY!

M: Um, ok...how about George Mason or Villanova?
A: KENTUCKY!!

M: No, you have to pick either George Mason or Villanova
A: KENTUCKY!!

M: Ok, we'll come back to that one. How about Kentucky or Princeton.
A: Umm...Princeton.

After that they moved on to mascots...

M: Ok, lets try mascots. Do you want the Owls or the Lions to win?
A: How bout da Owls AND da Lions.

Mabye we'll wait until next year to fill out Adelyn's bracket.

We'll be cheering on the Cats tomorrow in Tampa! (Please play better than you did on Thursday.)

Pregnancy Update

Today I'm 15 weeks and it's true what they say, the second time around goes by much faster! Matt and I are so excited to be expecting baby #2 but a little nervous too. For those of you who are counting, yes, I was pregnant in both of my sister's weddings. 7 months in Darla's and 11 weeks in Corrie's. Luckily at Corrie's wedding no one cornered me in the buffet line and shamlessly rubbed my belly while I was holding a plate of food.

You may remember that while I was pregnant with Adelyn I received weekly emails comparing the baby to produce. I signed up for those again and this week the baby is an apple. I've been surprised by how different my pregnancy symptoms have been this time around and my cheif complaint of late has been lower back pain. Adelyn has been very sypmathetic to my cause though and eats crackers in bed with me whenever I want. She also sweetly pats me randomly throughout the day and says "I sorry you don't feel good!"

She is really excited about being a big sister. When we first told her we would ask "Adelyn, do you want to be a big sister?" and she would respond "no, I be da wittle sister." But now she's decided that she would like to be the big sister. And if you ask her if she thinks the baby will be a boy or a girl she says "just a baby". Matt on the other hand is quite confident that it will be a girl and after listening to the heart beat my doctor predicted a boy. So we'll see...

Here is a picture of Baby Lilly #2 right around 13 weeks. The face isn't very clear because the baby had their hand right up next to it but I'm prediticing the same nose as Adelyn.

O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago.

Dinner Guests

Earlier this week the Dollhouse Family had some very special dinner guests - Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus. Woody is actually a regular. Snow White usually joins him but she had a prior engagement this particular evening.

A few nights later at dinner Adelyn asked "Is heaven in da stable where baby Jesus was born?" I don't think she could be any sweeter!

Firetrucks

I can't really begin to tell you how much Adelyn loves firestrucks. It's a whole lot. One of her favorite books is Curious George visits the Firestation. She pretty much has it memorized. There is actually a firestation right down the street from our neighborhood. Everytime we drive by we check to see if the firetrucks are "awake". This past Sunday we were pleasently surprised to find that the trucks from that station stopped by our street just to say hi.

Here  Adelyn's checking out "Tank" the Firetruck. He holds 3500 gallons of water. The other truck only holds 500.
After checking out Tank, Adelyn went to ask Fireman Johnny some questions about it. It was so cute. She was very serious and using her hands a lot. After he answered her questions she would run back over to look at Tank.
All the firefighters were so nice and said we could stop by the station anytime for a tour. I don't think they realized that we'll definitely be taking them up on their offer.
