The Pizza & Princess Party

I'm still trying to play catch up with this whole blog thing and a Pizza & Princess Party is definitely something I don't want to miss! Adelyn was beyond excited about turning 3 years old. She started talking about her "October 5th Birfday" in April after seeing the most beautiful, multi-tiered Princess Birthday cake in the Publix Bakery. I was really tempted to have a friends party for her this year but in the end my better judgement won out and we went with a small family party and served pizza with our princess cake. She had a blast and was thrilled so everyone was happy!

Singing Happy Birthday

The look on her face said it all - it was everything she had imagined and more!

"Don't worry Adelyn, I'll handle all the birthday text messages!"

This was the best and closest thing we got to a family picture. Sleepy head Caiden was taking a nap and missed out on all the fun (just like mommy hoped). I'm sure things will be different next year. :)

If I could only use one word to describe Adelyn right now it would be enthusiastic. She loves her life and loves to tell anyone who will listen all about it. I continue to be amazed by how smart she is, her eye for detail and ability to communicate. She uses words like similar, reluctant, necessarily, nocturnal, disappointed and lots more I can't think of right now. She knows that both the Statue of Liberty and Eiffel Tower are landmarks and located in New York and Paris. When she grows up she wants to be a mommy and baby nurse. Possibly a decorator as well. She wants to go to California so that she can be in an earthquake and after seeing a picture of a high ropes course at Chick-fil-A thinks she'd like to do that too when she's bigger. Her favorite thing to watch right now is Cat in the Hat. She loves to do crafts and is surprisingly good at puzzles. She's certainly not perfect though. She can be pretty emotional. I'm actually really concerned that she's going to be a hoarder. She cried today over a broken brush I threw away. She also still uses a paci at nap and bedtime. I'm not sure when we'll get rid of that. I value my sleep too much right now to make anymore drastic changes.

"Happy 3rd Birthday" Adelyn!

Two!

On August 2nd the Buddy Boy turned 2! He was and still is so incredibly proud of himself over this achievement.   Caiden is the most perfect combination of all boy and sweet and snuggly toddler that there ever could be! He loves trucks and balls, throws caution to the wind, and has a stubborn streak that isn't going anywhere. He adores his daddy more than I can explain, loves to get kisses from mommy and wants to do everything his big sister does. We never knew how much we needed this little boy until he arrived and we are so humbled and blessed because we were chosen to be his mommy and daddy.   How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?   1 Thessalonians 3:9

10 years

Today Matt & I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary! Part of me can hardly believe that it's already been 10 years. I can still remember so many details of that time in our lives. The joy and excitement of the wedding and anticipation for the future. And another part of me knows that 10 years is not that long at all. We've only just begun!   We did not get any digital images from our wedding photographer (it was a different time back in 2003) but a friend took these and gave them to me.   One of my favorite parts of our ceremony was that we signed a covenant. Matt & I signed first and then both of our family's came up and signed. It was a really special part of our ceremony.         I am so thankful for these past 10 years with my best friend! When Matt & I met at a mutual friend's house 12 years ago I never could have imagined all that God had planned. But through it all - the victories and...

Thanksgiving 2012

I know, it's pathetic. I'm blogging about Thanksgiving 2012 at the end of February 2013. But there were too many fun memories to not give it a blog post.   We headed to Owensboro this year for Thanksgiving. It was Caiden's first airplane ride and visit to Kentucky. He did great on both the flights. Isn't it so sad that his mother made him ride in a hot pink stroller.    Adelyn and Caroline had a lot of fun playing together. They had the most fun teasing Uncle Chris by hiding in his bed and giggling until he came to find them.     Since these pictures were taken Caroline has become a big sister. Do you think she was worried that her baby brother would be as silly as Adelyn's?   Speaking of our baby brother, he was quite the early riser on this trip. On Thanksgiving morning he woke up at 4 am, took a scenic drive around Owensboro, wished everyone in the drive thru at Dunkin' Donuts a "Happy Thanksgiving" an...
