A New Cousin

The Adamson family has been blessed with another little girl! Darla and Rob welcomed Makayla Alexandra at 10:20 am on February 8th.
She weighed 8 lbs 6 oz and 20.5 inches long.

Her mommy and daddy were so relieved that they made it to the hospital in time. This little girl was in a hurry to make her appearance! (She must get that from the Catoe's)

Caiden and Makayla are 6 months and 6 days apart. They're going to have a lot of fun playing together one day!
And, if they're smart, which they are, they're going to stay out of the way of these two goofy big sisters...

"Ok Kinsley, you go first."

"Ahh, this is the most fun I've ever had in my entire life! Ahhh!!"
"Mommy, I could use a little help here...mommy?"

"What? What did we do?"

Does anyone else think that Caiden and Kinsley look like the brother/sister combo? Me too! Adelyn is all Lilly & Caiden is an Adamson. In my official opinion as their mother of course.

Welcome to our crazy family, Makayla! We're so glad you're here!!

Adelyn the Brave

A few weeks ago Adelyn helped her best friend Brody celebrate his 5th Birthday. He had some exciting but scary special guests attend...

You brought a what?!?

Once she held the tarantula there was no going back!

This bearded lizard also brought his scorpion friend but we didn't get a picture of him.
Here's a baby alligator...
and Adelyn holding his older cousin. She didn't even hesitate when given the chance to hold him. (I just love the kid in the orange shirt. He's got his super hero pose down if you ask me.)

I even took a turn holding the alligator but I draw the line at this guy...

Yuck! 5 kids long and you still can't see the end of him. He was Adelyn's favorite animal. She thought he was so soft and smooth.

The guy with all the animals is a Gatorland wrangler. He did a great job and the party was so much fun. I hope Caiden doesn't get any ideas though. I'm terrified of the "little, harmless" snake that lives in our bushes. There's no way I'm letting one who could eat me and my children come over.

Happy Valentine's Day

We hope that you had a great Valentine's Day! Our week of love has been a little bittersweet you might say...

Adelyn went to a Valentine's Party at Gracyn's house on Monday. She shared lots of sweet treats with her closest girlfriends and made a Valentine for her daddy.

It wasn't too surprising that it soon turned into a Princess Party!

The little brothers and sisters had fun just being themselves.

On Tuesday morning we found ourselves at the doctors office. Matt had his own appointment on the other side of town and between the 3 patients we came home with 5 prescriptions. Unfortunately we were back today and the official diagnosis is brochialitis for these two sweeties.

Thankfully my Valentine knows that chocolate keeps me happy.

Roll Over Rover

We interupt our desperate attempt to continue blogging about 2011 for this important and live update...

Caiden is 6 months old today, started rolling and even gives kisses!

I just love his little fingers here - like he's kind of saying hi but is being totally cool about it.

He rolled from his tummy to his back for the first time this past Sunday so now Adelyn & I call him a Roll Over Rover.

I LOVE these chubby legs!! Pictures don't really do them justisce.

I took Caiden for his 6 month well visit today. He weighed 16 lbs 9 oz (50th percentile for weight) and measured 28.5 inches long (off the charts for height!)

Caiden is the sweetest, happiest thing! He loves it when we talk to him and gives us big smiles. I tell Matt that he is Caiden's favorite. Whenever Matt gets home from work Caiden has so much to "talk" to him about. My guess is that it starts with "Daddy, you won't believe what these crazy girls did today!" He squeals and babbles, loves his play telephone and a bee that was originally Adelyn's. If he's upset I can sing to him and he calms down, he thinks books are for chewing - not reading and he loves to take a bath. He loves his big sister, watches her every move and lights up when he hears her voice.

Thankfully he heard my Christmas wish and has started sleeping 7-9 hours pretty consistently at night. He also just recently started going 4 hours between feedings during the day. I'm so glad! Getting an extra hour really does help. He hasn't started solid foods yet but I know he's ready because he watches everything that we eat. He's working really hard on his two bottom front teeth and hopefully they'll pop through any day now.

I know that I'm slightly biased but since I'm his mother I think it's ok to say that...I think he's so pretty!! ;)
