38 Week Update

Well, here I am at 38 weeks pregnant. Don't let my smile fool you...I'm not very happy. These doctors, they just toy with your emotions. One week they tell you "the baby is probably going to come early" the next week its "you need to start thinking about how long past your due date you want to go." Why would you say that to someone whose shoes are making puffy lines in her feet!? In case you haven't guessed, I had a doctors appointment this morning. It was not encouraging. That's ok though. When they told me the baby might come early I knew that she could still be late. So whatever happens happens. The good thing is we are a lot more ready for her to come than we were a couple of weeks ago. I even have our bags for the hospital packed. While the waiting game is no fun we are trying to enjoy our last few baby free days. One things for sure - they're going to include a lot more long walks and spicy foods!

Two!

On August 2nd the Buddy Boy turned 2! He was and still is so incredibly proud of himself over this achievement.   Caiden is the most perfect combination of all boy and sweet and snuggly toddler that there ever could be! He loves trucks and balls, throws caution to the wind, and has a stubborn streak that isn't going anywhere. He adores his daddy more than I can explain, loves to get kisses from mommy and wants to do everything his big sister does. We never knew how much we needed this little boy until he arrived and we are so humbled and blessed because we were chosen to be his mommy and daddy.   How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?   1 Thessalonians 3:9

"I have ponytail!"

Yesterday Adelyn wanted me to fix her hair in a ponytail. I can assure you it's much harder than it sounds. Poor kid got my hair. But she doesn't know it and after seeing herself in the mirror she was so proud. The first thing she wanted to do was show daddy. So, we made him a video... At dinner I was lamenting about how grown up she looks and that it makes me kind of sad. Matt's sympathetic response? "Her hair really isn't long enough for a ponytail if you ask me. She looks like a boy from the front and when she turns to the side she looks like a pirate." Ahh, just what every girl wants to hear, "you look like a pirate."

Eye to Eye

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise to know that Matt & I don't always agree on everything. For example, I think Matt should appreciate what a bargain shopper I am. Matt doesn't think I should shop. Clearly, someone's mistaken. But when it comes to parenting we really have been in agreement on every issue (yes, I know it's only been 6 months) but one...Diapers. Now before you think to yourself "I wonder if they're using cloth diapers?" let me just tell you that we completely agree that money should never be saved on 3 items. Toilet Paper. Paper Towels. And you guessed it, Diapers. So what's problem? It's the size of the diaper. If it was up to Matt, Adelyn would still be wearing the newborn size. (I think he's in denial about the fact that she's actually grown since being born). I however, the head diaper changer, fully understand the importance of a well fit diaper. In Matt's defense, he has never actually changed a blow-...
