Greetings from Babyland

It's hard to believe but Adelyn is 12 days old! I'm not sure what I've been doing for the last 12 days but sleeping is not high on the list. We are really enjoying getting to know our baby girl. She makes lots of funny faces, has the cutest mad face you've ever seen, and looks like a baby dinosaur going in for the kill just before she starts to eat. I have lots of different updates to share & thought you'd like to see some more pictures. So scroll on down & you'll see some of our highlights from the week. Oh Abbie all of your posts and pictures are wonderful! She is a delight. I laughed when your described her as a dinosaur going in for a kill for a feeding. Taylor looks the same way- still at 6 months old. I am so happy Matt was your knight in shining armor during your labor, delivery, and still. That is something I'm sure you will never forget about him- his strength when you needed him most. God is amazing and does a great job on these little ones. What do you say a couple more? Congratulations on the smooth feeding and weight gain- I know that must be a big relief! :)

Are you ready for this?

Monday was a very exciting day at our house. I celebrated turnig 29 (Yikes! I'm getting old) and we had a fetal echocardiogram to check on Baby Lilly #2. We didn't get any great shots because once again this little baby had their hand right next to their face. A very comfy position apparently. I'm happy to report that my birthday this year was a million times better than last year and Baby Lilly's heart looks great! But that's not what you want to know now is it. Nope, you want to know what our name list looks like...So far Matt has suggested Jelaine and Lapchild (for traveling purposes) and Adelyn has suggested Adelyn, Susie, Martha (if it's a boy), and Baby Scruffa Muffin. "I have ponytail!"

Yesterday Adelyn wanted me to fix her hair in a ponytail. I can assure you it's much harder than it sounds. Poor kid got my hair. But she doesn't know it and after seeing herself in the mirror she was so proud. The first thing she wanted to do was show daddy. So, we made him a video... At dinner I was lamenting about how grown up she looks and that it makes me kind of sad. Matt's sympathetic response? "Her hair really isn't long enough for a ponytail if you ask me. She looks like a boy from the front and when she turns to the side she looks like a pirate." Ahh, just what every girl wants to hear, "you look like a pirate."

Two!

On August 2nd the Buddy Boy turned 2! He was and still is so incredibly proud of himself over this achievement. Caiden is the most perfect combination of all boy and sweet and snuggly toddler that there ever could be! He loves trucks and balls, throws caution to the wind, and has a stubborn streak that isn't going anywhere. He adores his daddy more than I can explain, loves to get kisses from mommy and wants to do everything his big sister does. We never knew how much we needed this little boy until he arrived and we are so humbled and blessed because we were chosen to be his mommy and daddy. How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you? 1 Thessalonians 3:9
