Girly Girl

Adelyn was 15 months on the 5th so I thought it might be time for a little progress report. I'll try to keep it brief...

First of all, I think I forgot to metion that she started walking at 13 months. This means that I started running 2 months ago and am in great shape. Ha! Yeah right. More like always out of breath! Between signing and using real words, this kid is talking up a storm. Strangely enough, I still can't seem to understand her 80% of the time. The funniest thing lately is that she wants to read a bookie while she rockies and wears sockies. She also loves doggies and duckies and wants to walkies everywhere. In the past month I have notice the "girl" in her coming out more than ever...

She is definitely the hostess with the mostess! "Tea anyone?"

"Here, let me pour you some."

She is a very sweet and loving "mommy". Always making sure her baby drinks her milk

and eats her fruit.

Adelyn reads to her baby every day

and sets a good example by wearing a hat and never letting the baby leave without her own.

She also loves to accessorize herself (please notice she is wearing 3 bows)

and others. Poor Dexter didn't know that wearing pink socks and shoes was part of this deal.

The other night Matt answered the door wearing several pink braclets (I don't think playing jewelry was something he ever thought he'd be doing) and Adelyn was all decked out in necklaces.

At this point I'm thinking that Adelyn will never be a soccer chick. Matt, I hope you're saving for ballet and piano lessons. And prom dresses. Those things can really add up.

Adelyn is the obvious selection to head up the baby division for Aunt Corrie's web site! Adelyn, I am glad to see you taking such good care of Baby and Dexter while still looking good and increasing your vocabulary.

This is so funny! We have the same tea set and Kit loves it. It just blows me away how their personalities come out so early. Kit has a couple babies, but she couldn't care less about them. She'll be a good little mama:)

Two!

On August 2nd the Buddy Boy turned 2! He was and still is so incredibly proud of himself over this achievement.   Caiden is the most perfect combination of all boy and sweet and snuggly toddler that there ever could be! He loves trucks and balls, throws caution to the wind, and has a stubborn streak that isn't going anywhere. He adores his daddy more than I can explain, loves to get kisses from mommy and wants to do everything his big sister does. We never knew how much we needed this little boy until he arrived and we are so humbled and blessed because we were chosen to be his mommy and daddy.   How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?   1 Thessalonians 3:9

10 years

Today Matt & I are celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary! Part of me can hardly believe that it's already been 10 years. I can still remember so many details of that time in our lives. The joy and excitement of the wedding and anticipation for the future. And another part of me knows that 10 years is not that long at all. We've only just begun!   We did not get any digital images from our wedding photographer (it was a different time back in 2003) but a friend took these and gave them to me.   One of my favorite parts of our ceremony was that we signed a covenant. Matt & I signed first and then both of our family's came up and signed. It was a really special part of our ceremony.         I am so thankful for these past 10 years with my best friend! When Matt & I met at a mutual friend's house 12 years ago I never could have imagined all that God had planned. But through it all - the victories and...

Thanksgiving 2012

I know, it's pathetic. I'm blogging about Thanksgiving 2012 at the end of February 2013. But there were too many fun memories to not give it a blog post.   We headed to Owensboro this year for Thanksgiving. It was Caiden's first airplane ride and visit to Kentucky. He did great on both the flights. Isn't it so sad that his mother made him ride in a hot pink stroller.    Adelyn and Caroline had a lot of fun playing together. They had the most fun teasing Uncle Chris by hiding in his bed and giggling until he came to find them.     Since these pictures were taken Caroline has become a big sister. Do you think she was worried that her baby brother would be as silly as Adelyn's?   Speaking of our baby brother, he was quite the early riser on this trip. On Thanksgiving morning he woke up at 4 am, took a scenic drive around Owensboro, wished everyone in the drive thru at Dunkin' Donuts a "Happy Thanksgiving" an...
