Fall Flashback

This past fall has been a really busy and exciting time for us. We are all studying Genesis through Bible Study Fellowship. If you're not familiar with this organization you should really check it out. I can not speak highly enough of how they encourage and challenge you to go deeper in your walk with the Lord. And their children's program is amazing!

Adelyn started a combination ballet, tap, and tumbling class. She loves it and I'm a little jealous!

Caiden thinks it's pretty great too.

In September Matt and his brothers took a hiking trip in Zion National Park. This was actually their second year to go and they had a great time!

While Matt was vacationing, the kids and I went to the beach. It was Caiden's first time to play in the sand and see the ocean. He loved it!

Adelyn and I had a girl's night while we were at the beach. We watched a movie about a frog and ate popcorn and M&M's. She had so much fun and I have never seen her more excited to get in bed. I was fast asleep before my head hit the pillow and she was still talking a mile a minute.

We also took a vaction to Anna Maria Island with some friends. We had a lot of fun but sadly did not take one picture. Not even with our phones. Adelyn was so sad when we left. She cried and said that it was her perfect place to live. This is actually becoming kind of routine so I won't be surprised when Adelyn does live at the beach one day.

Two!

On August 2nd the Buddy Boy turned 2! He was and still is so incredibly proud of himself over this achievement.   Caiden is the most perfect combination of all boy and sweet and snuggly toddler that there ever could be! He loves trucks and balls, throws caution to the wind, and has a stubborn streak that isn't going anywhere. He adores his daddy more than I can explain, loves to get kisses from mommy and wants to do everything his big sister does. We never knew how much we needed this little boy until he arrived and we are so humbled and blessed because we were chosen to be his mommy and daddy.   How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?   1 Thessalonians 3:9

"I have ponytail!"

Yesterday Adelyn wanted me to fix her hair in a ponytail. I can assure you it's much harder than it sounds. Poor kid got my hair. But she doesn't know it and after seeing herself in the mirror she was so proud. The first thing she wanted to do was show daddy. So, we made him a video... At dinner I was lamenting about how grown up she looks and that it makes me kind of sad. Matt's sympathetic response? "Her hair really isn't long enough for a ponytail if you ask me. She looks like a boy from the front and when she turns to the side she looks like a pirate." Ahh, just what every girl wants to hear, "you look like a pirate."

The Terrific Two's

Adelyn officially hit the 2 1/2 mark a couple of months ago and oh my, this kid is a mess! She is just so full of life, personality, words, thoughts, opinions, energy, did I mention words? There are days when I'm pretty sure she's trying to reach her 5,000+ words used for the day quota before lunch time and it wears me out! She is also the sweetest, smartest, funniest, most charming 2 year old in the whole world. (In my humble opinion as her mother of course.) Don't get me wrong, she is by no means perfect. The past couple of weeks she's been in rare form but we think the two's are far more terrific than terrible. She is very much into the details and notices everything. She sees those decorative ball things that go on car antennas everywhere. One day she saw a red Mickey Mouse head and told me the reason it's red is because his overalls are red. It's been so neat to hear her start to use logic and reason or give explanations. Adelyn is quite the tease an...
