A New Cousin

The Adamson family has been blessed with another little girl! Darla and Rob welcomed Makayla Alexandra at 10:20 am on February 8th. She weighed 8 lbs 6 oz and 20.5 inches long. Her mommy and daddy were so relieved that they made it to the hospital in time. This little girl was in a hurry to make her appearance! (She must get that from the Catoe's)   Caiden and Makayla are 6 months and 6 days apart. They're going to have a lot of fun playing together one day! And, if they're smart, which they are, they're going to stay out of the way of these two goofy big sisters... "Ok Kinsley, you go first."  " Ahh, this is the most fun I've ever had in my entire life! Ahhh !!" "Mommy, I could use a little help here...mommy?" "What? What did we do?" Does anyone else think that Caiden and Kinsley look like the brother/sister combo? Me too! Adelyn is all Lilly & Caiden is an Adamson. In my ...

Adelyn the Brave

A few weeks ago Adelyn helped her best friend Brody celebrate his 5th Birthday. He had some exciting but scary special guests attend... You brought a what?!? Once she held the tarantula there was no going back! This bearded lizard also brought his scorpion friend but we didn't get a picture of him. Here's a baby alligator... and Adelyn holding his older cousin. She didn't even hesitate when given the chance to hold him. (I just love the kid in the orange shirt. He's got his super hero pose down if you ask me.) I even took a turn holding the alligator but I draw the line at this guy... Yuck! 5 kids long and you still can't see the end of him. He was Adelyn's favorite animal. She thought he was so soft and smooth. The guy with all the animals is a Gatorland wrangler. He did a great job and the party was so much fun. I hope Caiden doesn't get any ideas though. I'm terrified of the "little, harmless" sna...

Happy Valentine's Day

We hope that you had a great Valentine's Day! Our week of love has been a little bittersweet you might say... Adelyn went to a Valentine's Party at Gracyn's house on Monday. She shared lots of sweet treats with her closest girlfriends and made a Valentine for her daddy.   It wasn't too surprising that it soon turned into a Princess Party! The little brothers and sisters had fun just being themselves. On Tuesday morning we found ourselves at the doctors office. Matt had his own appointment on the other side of town and between the 3 patients we came home with 5 prescriptions. Unfortunately we were back today and the official diagnosis is brochialitis for these two sweeties. Thankfully my Valentine knows that chocolate keeps me happy. via

Roll Over Rover

We interupt our desperate attempt to continue blogging about 2011 for this important and live update... Caiden is 6 months old today, started rolling and even gives kisses! I just love his little fingers here - like he's kind of saying hi but is being totally cool about it. He rolled from his tummy to his back for the first time this past Sunday so now Adelyn & I call him a Roll Over Rover. I LOVE these chubby legs!! Pictures don't really do them justisce. I took Caiden for his 6 month well visit today. He weighed 16 lbs 9 oz (50th percentile for weight) and measured 28.5 inches long (off the charts for height!) Caiden is the sweetest, happiest thing! He loves it when we talk to him and gives us big smiles. I tell Matt that he is Caiden's favorite. Whenever Matt gets home from work Caiden has so much to "talk" to him about. My guess is that it starts with "Daddy, you won't believe what these crazy girls did today!...

December 2011

I'm getting closer and closer to "catching up" on blog posts. Pretend like it's December 31st instead of January 31st.  Just like you we had a very busy December. Here are a few of our highlights... Matt and Adelyn took a trip to Kentucky to visit Mimi and Grandpa at the beginning of the month. They were suppossed to go in August but then you know who showed up ahead of schedule. They had an early flight and I think we took these pictures at 5:45 am. Adelyn was too excited to be tired! They had a great time making cookies, visiting with Aunt Janie and Uncle Jewel, seeing the train exhibit at the children's museum and more. Adelyn did really well on both flights and overall it was a huge success! While Matt and Adelyn were in Kentucky, Caiden and I were at home getting ready for the Christmas party I agreed to host. Our Life Group has a progressive dinner and hay ride each year and the dinner portion was at our house. It was a lot of work but I rea...

The Preschool Christmas Program

Adelyn's preschool put on a Christmas program and it was kind of hilarious. We were surprised that Adelyn had a little stage fright in the beginning. But once they started singing about Santa Claus she got into it! Caiden was very impressed by her performance! The Preschool had a not very authentic looking Santa come to visit the kids. Adelyn thought he was great and I did too! Saved me a trip to the mall. This is where she's telling him that she wants a Princess trampoline for Christmas. Unfortunately Santa did not hear of her request until after all the Princess trampolines were sold out. He was able to find a Princess Scooter though and that was pretty good too! and finally...

The Christmas Card

You may remember my  post from last year about how Christmas cards and I don't really get along. This year I didn't even start attempting to put something together until about 2.5 weeks before Christmas. Amazingly enough I mailed them out on the 21st. One whole day earlier than last year. (If I keep this up it'll only take 20 more years before I can say I mail my Christmas cards on December 1st.) I'm not holding my breath... I told Matt - all we need is one good picture of each of them. If we can get a good one of them together, it'll be a Christmas miracle! One child was increasingly easier to work with than the other. Can you guess who? Both of them together was a little tricky... But in the end I was a happy mommy. One great individual picture of each kiddo... And a good one of both of them together. I tried to save a copy of the actual card so that I could post it, but was not successful. I was really happy with h...
